Panel Discussion: Charles Haddon Spurgeon
This week marks a historic occasion in the life of Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. We were privileged to host Dr. Mark Dever for this year’s installment of the Charles Spurgeon Lectures on Biblical Preaching, in conjunction with the launching of the the Charles Spurgeon Center for Biblical Preaching and the dedication of the Charles Spurgeon Library; at which were Spurgeon’s living decedents.
During the historic and exciting first day of the two day event, a panel discussion was held on the life and ministry of Charles Spurgeon. Included on this panel was Dr. Christian George, curator of the Spurgon Library; Dr. Jason Duesing, Baptist historian and Provost of Midwestern Seminary; Don Whitney, professor of Biblical Spirituality and director of the Center for Biblical Spirituality at Southern Seminary; and Dr. Mark Dever, pastor of Capital Hill Baptist Church, president of 9 Marks Ministries, and this years lecturer.
